Group Training classes

This style of obedience classes gives you the most value and flexibility.  Once you have attended orientation, you are ready to come to class as many times during the week as the class is offered.  Once your dog has achieved the skills in one level, you move to the next!  No additional class fees or orientations, just come to the next scheduled level. Flexible and affordable, different length packages are available for purchase.

Class descriptions

As each level builds on the skills of the classes before, the levels must be completed in order. However, there is no problem going back to a lower level to fine tune skills that have slipped or faded! Your instructor will assess the skills of your team and graduate you through the levels as your proficiency allows.

Intro class

Your first class is a dog-free introduction to the training principles applied during the classes. We look at leadership skills, learning theory and the practical aspects of raising a dog you can live with. Intro classes will be offered every other week, allowing teams to begin training at any time.

Level one

In which we learn to walk before we run by building the foundation behaviours, including clicker use, paying attention, loose leash walking and recall foundations

Level two

Learn the cues! Covering the basic Sit, Down and Stand cues, luring and fading lures as a teaching tool. Includes adding duration to sit down and stand

Level three

Start your really reliable recalls; work on adding duration, distance and distractions to the basic cues

Level four

Includes “Go to your Mat” (an incredibly valuable behaviour), leave it and take it, doing a recall with distractions and teaching your dog to touch a target.

Level five

Canine Good Neighbour Prep- covers the 10 skills required to pass the CKC canine good neighbour test.

Pricing

Training passes are available in different lengths

6 week pass $150.00 6 weeks should enable most teams to get off to a good start with basic cues and recalls.

12 week pass $200.00 giving more room for flexibility; 12 weeks should see many teams into the CGN test range!

4 week extension $110.00 if you need a little more time!

Classes will be one hour in length, and will be scheduled twice a week, one weekday evening and one weekend day. You are welcome to attend the class for your level as often as it is offered. Intro classes will be scheduled every other week for new teams to start!
